About
My students and Parents are very happy with my tutoring as they see an improvement in their grades and also in their conceptual understanding.
I love Math and that reflects in my tutoring. My explanation through visual models throws more light in their understanding. I have been tutoring for the last 11 years and last 3 years through online as well. I can understand the pulse of the student and cater to their needs.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
1. Getting to know them by assessing them with a test of their grade.
2. Based on their assessment, can start on the topic explaining the concepts first and making them work through the problems and solutions. Give them more practice worksheets.
3. Assigning a homework for the week based on the session.
4. Reviewing the homework and clear any doubts that arise and move on.
5. Giving them periodical assessment tests.
6. Give a feedback after the first session and periodical review after every month.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Math is my favourite subject and I gain a great passion in teaching math from my childhood to my friends and classmates.
1.I currently tutor elementary and middle school students as a freelance tutor through an academy in US.
2. I also volunteer in a non-profit organisation turoring english and math for middle school studenta.
3. I have tutored 50+ kids of varying ages from ages 3 to 16 till grades 10.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My sessions would be weekly one hour session (monthly- four) at $25-30 per hour. Timings , days, prices are negotiable.
How did you get started teaching?
From my childhood, had a passion towards math and because of the interest, i had a good visualization and understanding of concepts applying to everyday life. This helped me in solving the doubs of my friends and classmates and I landed in tutoring kids from my college days ie..around 25 years. This kept me going and I found it very convenient to teach from home as I had to live in different places both in US and India.
What types of students have you worked with?
As I had mentioned, students of all ages between 3 and 16 ranging from pre-K till 10th grade have learnt from me and gained knowledge.
Students like me for my friendly nature and easy approach to the subject.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I was also active with another NGO till last year called Bhumi wherein I had to give live presentations and demos about environment sustainability to middle school kids with few other teammates. We had 5 or 6 interventions and had interactive fun sessions with them on making seedballs, waste segregation, gardening etc. It was the best and memorable event(s) I had in recent times.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
My area of expertise is Math. A student looking to learn math should remember is Math is around us and by having a hands on practical appraoch, almost all the concepts of math can be learnt by relating to it. Once we understand the concepts, doing math problem and word problem is a piece of cake. That would give them a great confidence.
So, as a teacher , I should create that interest in the student and should make him understand the concepts clearly. Anything learnt with passion will permanently register in our mind.
If the child is unable to understand, it is the duty of the tutor to make him understand in a way he could relate.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
1. Students need to be transparant to their teachers as inhibitions will not help in achieving what they want to.They need not be shy or scared.
2. The days and timings they are available.
3. They can get their doubts cleared without any hesitation. I can review the topics if they do not have a clarity.
