I have been tutoring math for at least 15 years. Currently I am teaching AP Calc BC at a private high school. I am very familiar with both traditional and common core style teaching. I do 1-on-1 as well small group tutoring. Each student comprehends and learns differently. I tailor my tutoring to each student's specific needs. In addition to tutoring session, students can reach me any time to ask questions when he/she needs to clarify concepts and check calculations. Most students see improvements in their grades in a few sessions.
I also tutor SAT/ACT Math, SAT Subject Math 1/2, GRE and GMAT Math. Current SAT/ACT math questions are designed to reflect common core standards. I help students review and make connections of various concepts. Last summer, I tutored 2 students in SAT Subject Math 2, one achieved a score of 800 and the other 790!
My greatest joy is that I see students start to understand math so they become more confident and interested in learning math.
