What I enjoy most about tutoring is making connections with students and their families. However, making learning easier and more enjoyable for children is always my top priority!
“Mrs. Melissa has made all the difference in my child’s ability to succeed at school. Her bright attitude coupled with an individualized curriculum that uses games and fun to learn has led my child to be one of the strongest students in his class. Furthermore, he has gained a tremendous sense of confidence that has permeated into other areas of his life. We couldn’t be happier with his progress!
“Melissa tutored my now 12 year old son, 10 year old daughter, and 7 year old son for close to 4 years. She was wonderful and worked well with each child. She taught them fun ways to work through math problems and reading comprehension. My kids loved her and really enjoyed the learning process. I would highly recommend her to anyone that is looking to enhance the schooling experience with someone who truly enjoys working with children. She is one of a kind!”
Our first session starts with an informal evaluation to determine what students need most to succeed. All sessions include learning games such as "Go Fish", "Tic Tac Toe", and "Memory" that make learning fun! In addition, the use of multi-sensory activities promotes retention.
