Jeff was my daughters English writing tutor last year when she was a 8th grade student. My daughter really enjoyed learning from him, because every time he would ask her what she wanted to improve on and helped her until she got the concept down. He used many different tactics that involved videos, games which made her not feel bored when learning English. He really made English a fun subject for her and to enjoy writing. Jeff knows a lot and can help answer any of my daughters questions. Every time he tutored her, he would check to make sure that she understood the last times concept and that she got it down. When doing vocabulary, when she was stuck he would help her by giving an example and then letting her try multiple times till she got it. Overall, Jeff was a great tutor for my daughter and truly taught her very well.

Jeff was great with my son. If my son was having a hard time understanding something, Jeff figured out how to explain it so that my son understood the material. He was also very patient, understanding and accommodating.

Every student is different so I have a highly interactive process I tailor-make for each student. I determine the student's goals, barriers to attaining those goals, and the student's learning style.  I then design a program to fit the needs of the student.

I have undergraduate degrees in both Business Management and Computer Science; My Master's Degree is in Organizational Psychology and my Ph.D., in training and e-learning. I have written and published my doctoral dissertation, so I have A LOT of writing experience. I have taught and tutored both English and Math on a middle school and high school level for over a decade

I have also taught psychology on a college level, worked as a professional life coach, and had been a software engineer and technician for over a decade

I was disillusioned with the high-tech world and wanted to work more with people when the opportunity came forth.

I had been tutoring "Sam", a brilliant, neurodivergent 17-year-old, for two years. Despite her knack for math, English literature has always been a struggle for her. When her school announced an essay competition, I encouraged her to participate, to realize her progress. She chose to write about Eleanor Roosevelt, an inspirational historical figure. Sam hit roadblocks in the writing process, but I encouraged her to seek help from her teacher, which she did, bravely advocating for herself for the first time. After much effort, she submitted her work, and to our shared delight won third place, her essay lauded for its sincerity and depth. Watching her accept the award, I swelled with pride, not just for the recognition she received but for the journey of growth, learning, and self-advocacy she undertook.
Find a teacher who is relatable to you. There are many excellent teachers out there who you may not relate to. That's fine, don't feel bad, they will relate well with someone else. Hire one that you have a rapport.
Do I have a rapport with that teacher? Do they know what they are talking about?
