Hello. My name is Melissa. I am the 2020, "California Teacher of The Year" and am available, via video call, in the evening from 5-8 and all day on the weekends. I am available in person on the weekends. I am a current 4th/ 5th grade teacher. I LOVE what I do and love finding way's to help every student succeed.

Does your child need help recovering from this year. Covid was hard on everyone, especially students. If your child needs 1 on 1 help catching up from this year, or you just want them to get a head start on next year, I am here to help.

I have my Master's Degree in Education and graduated Magma Cum laude with a 4. 0 G. P. A. I am fully credentialed (K-6), and trained to teach students with disabilities, gifted students, and English learners. I am currently teaching a 4/5 combo.

I can help your child with a specific topic of concern, or I can provide diagnostic assessments to identify their area of need and create an instructional plan tailored to them.

I charge $75 an hour for virtual lessons and $125 an hour for in-person lessons.

    Frequently asked questions

When starting off, the first session focuses on getting to know your child. This is an important part of the process. No two children learn the same. In order to make the time spent with me the most meaningful, I need to learn what type of learner your child is, as well as what they need help with. Do they learn better by seeing, hearing, doing, reading... What are they interested in? Math can be alot funner when we are dividing fossils between palentologists, and dividing flour bewteen cooking recipes as opposed to just trying to do math that seems unrelated to real life.
