About
Hello!
My name is Mrs. Alexandra Conti and I am a credentialed high school mathematics teacher with 6+ years of experience teaching high school mathematics in the Bay Area. I've taught multiple levels of Algebra (1, 2, & Intervention/Math Lab), as well as AP Statistics at WGHS in San Jose, CA. I also taught the Algebra 1 summer advancement class at Saint Francis High School (Mountain View, CA) for several years before moving. I received my B.A. from University of Washington and my M.A. from Loyola Marymount University. I am extremely passionate about helping my students achieve a deep understanding of mathematics and I work tirelessly to ensure they receive the best preparation possible. I work to build my kids' confidence in their math skills with positive reinforcement, encouragement, and a variety of instructional approaches that meets their individual needs. I love to use whiteboards, Desmos graphing calculator, Kuta Software, PearDecks, and more technological apps that help students build the bridge between learning and truly understanding!
I am able to tutor elementary, middle school, and high school math students in foundational math, pre-algebra, Algebra 1, and AP Statistics. I am flexible and available on a weekly, pre-determined schedule. We can meet locally or virtually (on Zoom). Let me know your preference!
Please contact me for more information. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Conti

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I hope to find out about the student's needs and goals in their math studies. I use this information to develop a unique, individualized plan that best suits our joint desired outcome(s). I hope to also create a structured timeline with the student and/or parents/guardians so that we can create a schedule that promotes success and retention!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Fully credentialed California Mathematics teacher (CCTC) with 6+ years of experience working in public and private schools (in-person AND virtually).
8+ years experience privately tutoring students of all ages and ability levels.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
As a professional tutor, I charge:
Ongoing tutoring: $40 per hour or $70 per 2 hours.
As needed/Occassional: $50 per hour or $90 per 2 hours.
However, I am willing to work with your family depending on your students needs and amount of tutoring needed, as well as subject level. For example, sessions that require advanced lesson planning will typically be more than ongoing tutoring where I help with skills, homework, and test prep. Please communicate your needs to me and I will do my very best to offer you the very best I can give you!
