Spencer was great, he was able to dumb things down in the lowest form for me and made it more relatable. The way he explained things just clicked.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

After properly assessing the needs of the tutee, an education plan will be established to promote an overall goal of developing independent learning.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

-- 6 years as Nuclear Engineer in US Navy

-- 2 years as Math Tutor at Fresno City College

-- Junior at Fresno State (Mechanical Engineering)

-- Intern with NASA at Glenn Research Center

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

High School -- $30 per session

College -- $35 per session

Note: Sessions run for 1 hour (60 minutes)

How did you get started teaching?

I started as an Embedded Tutor for a College Algebra (Math 103) class at Fresno City College, and have been a certified tutor ever since. I now tutor everything in the Engineering/Science Math category and below at Fresno State (i.e. Trigonometry, Geometry, Algebra I & II, Pre-Calculus, Calculus 1-3, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, etc.). I can also tutor some entry-level engineering courses.

What types of students have you worked with?

-- High school

-- College

-- Adult School

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I worked on the X-59 project for my NASA internship at Glenn Research Center. I got to do material analysis on the model used for the wind tunnel testing.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Have you used all avaiable resources (i.e. textbook, YouTube, Khan Academy, etc.)?

Did you take proper notes?

Do you have any basic practice problems to establish a baseline knowledge?
