Achieve Academic Coaching
About
I do more than help students with their homework. I assess them and monitor their progress so they can grow in their skills. My goal is to help students gain confidence in their abilities.
I love math, and I love helping my clients understand and perhaps... even enjoy it. ;)

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Usually I start out by assessing a student's basic math skills. Then I tailor our sessions toward building on those skills. I use games, puzzles and fun activities to encourage students to have fun with math.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have both special ed and multiple subjects credentials. In addition I have been to several math conferences and trainings over the years and have a wealth of resources.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $35/hour. I will give discounts for monthly payments up front. I charge a bit more if I have to drive more than 5 miles.
How did you get started teaching?
I've been teaching a very long time. My first job was teaching gymnastics as a teenager. I was a teaching assistant in college, and began my career at a summer academic camp teaching radio production. After I had children I tutored an adult in reading, which led to my teaching credentials.
What types of students have you worked with?
All ages from Kindergarten through adult. I've worked with second language learners, and many who have struggled with math and reading.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I loved hearing from parents that their students don't need my help anymore because they are doing well in math!
