What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Tori Neko Tutoring expert Quito Barajas evaluates student learning barriers and strengths in order to maximize comprehension. The goal is to take an independence based model that encourages the student to do the thinking instead of the tutor. This way, the student learns through the tutor's guidance instead of rote instruction.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
4 years of university grade tutoring, a Bachelor's in English, and behavioral therapy certification through PearVue as an RBT for children with learning disabilities.
I'm also prepared to provide communication training I learned from world class sales experts at LGCY in order to help with oral presentations.

$15 session for 30 minutes
$25 session for 1 hour
$45 session for 90 minutes
$60 session for 2 hours
How did you get started teaching?
One of my college teachers recommended I tutor for my school due to my clear explanations. I take pride in my ability to help students surprass their learning objectives.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have conducted tutoring with students of all walks of life. I do not discriminate against your race, skin color, ethnicity, nationality, or whether or not you have a disability. It matters not. The most important person is you and your success.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I helped a foreign student overcome an obstacle with sentence structure. She was struggling until we sat down and deconstructed the components of a sentence. She went from a 68% on her last exam to an 83% on her next one.
Progress is one step at a time.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure the tutor can honestly show you how he or she can help you with your specific tutoring needs. If it doesn't seem like a good fit, ask for a recommendation!
