About
Hi! My name is Nikki and I am a graduate from the University of Washington with a BS in Marine Biology and a minor in Education, Learning, and Societies. Throughout the past five years, I have had experience tutoring students in math, and I have taken up to Calculus II and college-level statistics.
Tutoring aside, I have also worked as a figure skating instructor for three years, coaching different age groups, from elementary schoolers to adult classes. Having this experience of working with a variety of students has allowed me to teach more effectively.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When I start working with a new student, I assess what math level they're currently at by looking at their school material. If needed, I then provide supplemental materials for them to understand topics that they're having trouble with. After going through the material, I ask my students to explain their problem solving process to me to ensure that they've truly grasped the concept.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I passed the AP Calculus AB & BC and AP Statistics tests, and I recieved an AP Scholar award from Collegeboard. On the math section of the SAT, I scored in the 98th national percentile. I was also in the top 9% of my graduating high school class.
In addition, I am a part of the Best of Tutors.com 2020 and 2021 program, which include the top 6% of all Tutors.com professionals.
