About
As a classroom teacher and current college student at UC Berkeley I understand both sides of the struggle. My tutoring service strives to create sustainable improvement towards educational goals by tackling the root of subject struggles instead of just addressing problems as they arise.

The moments where students understand concepts they were struggling with, or feel confident enough to try something they would be reluctant to do in the past, are the ones that make me proud to teach. When done right, education provides students with a growth mindset that enables them to tackle any challenge set in front of them.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First I believe in creating a safe space for communication by getting to know the student's interests. This exercise is also helpful since interests can be incorporated into later curriculum to increase motivation. After I conduct a diagnostic to identify where students are finding issues, that information is used to develop a plan that can be shared with parents so they understand what each meeting will be about. From then on I can provide updates on student's progress and we will work together to reach their learning goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have worked as a summer classroom teacher with ESL students for two years and as a summer aid for three years. My teaching subjects have included Language Arts, Science, and a specialized hands-on STEM curriculum called Camp Invention.
I have also tutored high school students for 2 years in AP subjects and for the SAT.
