About

Not all students learn the same way, especially with the Common Core method used in most public schools. I take a one-on-one, in person approach with my students. This lets me tailor how I teach and review content to their needs.

My "old school" approach works better than most online tutoring methods. This is because most students need a knowledgeable adult sitting with them in person to hold them accountable, help them learn more effectively, and help them understand what they're learning for the future.

I get great joy and satisfaction from helping students with their work and being a part of their lives. Having solid relationships with my students makes me feel more invested in their lives and that makes them more excited to learn and succeed. In turn, my students' success brings me even more joy and satisfaction. Tutoring is truly a virtuous cycle!

    Frequently asked questions

I will go to the student's house or another predetermined location on the student's first day of tutoring in person. Next, I will introduce myself to the student and their parent(s) and get to know the student. From there, I will assess what specifically the student needs tutoring in and how often (unless the parent lets me know in advance what they feel their child or teen needs).

Most of my tutoring is done by reinforcing concepts taught in school by using the student's homework and/or additional workbooks or reference books. I will also teach new concepts if I, the student's parent(s), or the student's teacher feels that's necessary.

I teach my students with the same approach that I was taught. From first through eighth grades, I went to a Montessori school where basic math was drilled into my head from a young age. These formative years have given me an excellent foundation on which I teach my students.

In high school, I took a plethora of honors, AP, and AICE (British A-Levels that are equivalent to AP and IB) classes. I earned 24 AP and AICE credits towards my undergraduate degree before starting college. I graduated from Boca Raton Community High School in Boca Raton, Florida in 2012 with honors.

Thereafter, I received my Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree from Florida Atlantic University in 2015 with cum laude Latin honors. I majored in Management and Entrepreneurship and double minored in Economics and Business Law. My undergraduate degree required a comprehensive knowledge of math up to single-variable calculus.

My 15 years of experience as a student have provided me with a plethora of insight about how effective classrooms and teachers work from elementary school to the undergraduate level. This coupled with my ever-evolving math knowledge are the cornerstones of my business.

I also have two years of homeschooling experience from teaching my younger brother. That is how I started my business in the first place.

I charge a flat rate of $60 per hour for all students. I accept cash, Apple Pay, Venmo, and Zelle for payment.

Plus, I have a 24 Hour Cancellation Policy where if you cancel within 24 hours of a session, you will be charged in full for that session. All families get one free cancellation per school year (June 1 - May 31) to account for unforeseen circumstances. This policy exists to maintain fairness and respect between all my students, their families, and myself.

My mom asked me to homeschool my younger brother for the 8th grade in all subjects for the 2020-21 school year. She didn’t think it was safe to send him back to in person school because of the COVID-19 Pandemic. I accepted the challenge because I wanted to help my brother. His grades and confidence soared as direct results of my teaching. In fact, my brother has told me that "Anthony is the best teacher I've ever had!" and how I "saved him".

In turn, homeschooling my brother gave me the confidence to start my tutoring business and begin helping other students.

Since starting my business in 2020, I am tutoring elementary school, middle school, high school, and undergraduate level students. I have also previously tutored Pre-K students.

I also have a few neurodivergent students who I give extra attention to as necessary. I have worked with students on the autism spectrum and others who have ADHD as well.

For Students: Talk to your classmates, friends, and peers who have been tutored with that person before. If they have a great experience, you will likely have a great experience too.

For Parents: Read reviews on Tutors.com, ask questions, and gather as much info as possible before making a decision.

I am just a phone call or text away if you or your student(s) have any questions for me.

Have I already learned this concept in class?

Is there anything that was not clearly explained in class?

Do I have any notes about this concept? And if so, are they detailed enough?

Could I ask a classmate or a friend first?
