Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to have a conversation with my students to find out what they feel are their strengths, their weaknesses, and what goals they would like to achieve. Then, we'll get down to business!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
- 12 years teaching experience grades 9-12 in Arizona and Texas
- Have taught on-level, honors, pre-AP, and AP English courses.
-Have written curriculum for all levels of English, AP Language, and AP Literature.
How did you get started teaching?
I've always loved teaching. As a child, I used to gather my stuffed animals and teach lessons with my chalkboard. In high school, I was a teacher's assistant and even taught a few classes! Though I started teaching a bit later than some, teaching has always been in my blood, and I cannot imagine doing anything else!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all kinds of students: gifted, average, struggling. If you need help, I will do my level best to help you achieve your goals!
