Hi, my name is Elizabeth Klaassen. I am an international school teacher. I have lived much of my life in West Africa and have a passion for helping people be successful at reading in spite of extenuating circumstances. Having first hand knowledge of adhd and dyslexia I know how difficult learning to read can be for someone with an alternative reading style. So I especially love “hopeless” cases, because for me they are just opportunities for success!

What originally started as a career in social work eventually morphed into a commitment to a life as an educator. I've had the privilege of being part of a tireless community tasked with molding the dreams of students from kindergarten to high school seniors in subjects such as Math, Science, and English. It is truly my passion to help students grow academically and socially as responsible individuals who will later on contribute to their generation. My aim in this profession would be to provide students with the opportunities to gain skills needed to excel in their learning process and become better human beings and global citizens. I’m hopi

What is disability in special education?

The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) identifies 13 disability categories where special education should be provided.

  • Auditory Impairment (AI) – refers to a hearing loss not categorized by deafness.
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) – mainly affects a child's social and communication skills and behavior.
  • Deafness – covers kids who can't hear most or all sounds, even with a hearing aid.

  • Emotional Disturbance (ED) – various mental health issues such as anxiety disorder, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and depression.

Anna is truly a god send. My son was unable to read when she first started with him. He is now reading full sentences and spelling. I honestly don’t know what we would do without her. She is friendly, always on time, has great communication, and is wonderful with my children and pets. I highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a tutor!
