Hi, my name is Dr. Jo, and I'm excited to begin this learning journey with you!

With over 25 years of experience teaching from Kindergarten through higher education, my passion is helping learners build strong foundations in mathematics, literacy, and special education strategies with behavior management. My teaching journey has taken me across the Great Lakes Area, where I currently reside, and I hold a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with specializations in Mathematics and Literacy. In addition to my doctorate, I have multiple Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Education, Literacy, Mathematics Intervention, English, and Fine Arts. I am also a certified 316 Reading Teacher, Math Interventionist, and Secondary English.

Creativity plays a key role in my teaching. As a former graphic designer and web developer, I love incorporating art into learning to engage students in unique and meaningful ways. I am also a professional face painter, and I believe that blending creative methods with academic subjects not only enhances learning but feeds the learner's soul.

In today's ever-evolving world, I embrace technology as a powerful tool in education. Whether it's integrating digital platforms, exploring interactive learning environments, or utilizing virtual and augmented reality, I strive to make learning both accessible and exciting. By combining technology with traditional instruction, I create a dynamic, inclusive classroom where students can explore new concepts and challenge themselves.
