I have been teaching elementary students in the Sheboygan public schools for 29 years, and am certified as a reading teacher and English language teacher. I work with small groups of students that need extra help in reading and math. For the past few years I have been attending intensive workshops in math for primary students.Different students learn in different ways, and I have a large repetoire of techniques. I use the student's strengths and interests to guide their learning. I love teaching!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I need to learn the student's interests to make learning meaningful. I also need to learn a student's learning style. Some students need absolute quiet, some need music, and some students need to move! For reading and math, I have a wide range of quick assessments that can help me target areas of need.

I have been an elementary teacher for 29 years working with struggling students in reading and math. I am a certified reading teacher, and have been taking intensive workshops, classes, and seminars in math.

I love learning, and teaching is an extension of learning. I love working with kids.
