Our Philosophy

LTLS (Liddane Tutoring & Learning Services, LLC) was founded with the belief that, through establishing trust, respect, and high expectations, tutors and students co-create an environment for success. When students feel safe and supported, they move towards new levels of self-reliance and achievement. The mission of LTLS is to engage and empower all types of learners through modeling, dialogue, and strategy. Our reach is to students with learning differences as well as mainstream and accelerated learners.

History

Liddane Tutoring & Learning Services, LLC began as a small, independent tutoring service in 2001. Founder Andrea Liddane began her career as a public school teacher, believing in the power of education to enable students to reach their full potential. She soon recognized the value of personalized attention in a student’s growth and founded Liddane Tutoring to provide the best possible one-on-one support to students whose needs range from those requiring homework help to those with significant learning issues. Over the past fourteen years, we have helped hundreds of students realize their potential by creating an environment of trust, respect, and high expectations. In 2014, we launched our scholarship program to extend our services to families in the community for whom cost is a barrier. We are proud of the impact we have had on our students’ lives and aspire to continue to earn our place with the families and community we serve.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

In order to live into this mission statement, we offer a free, 30 minute intake call with owner/founder Andrea Liddane to all our new families. This is a time for caregivers to share a student’s successes and struggles and to ask questions.  Information about content and learning needs, personality, and scheduling requirements are noted. After the phone call, Andrea uses the specifics to identify a tutor as a good match. An introductory email is then sent between the new family and the LTLS tutor in order to begin scheduling.

Even through our dedicated efforts, we know our pairings are not always the best fit. We deliberately hire unique and flexible individuals in order to serve a wide range of students. If at any point a family isn’t satisfied with their pairing, we encourage families to request a new tutor. It is important to us that students feel supported throughout their journey towards new levels of self-reliance and achievement.
