About
I am a college student with a new view on English Literature in its entirely. Through my years of mentoring robotics team (elementary to Highschool) I have found that education to me is not milestones one must accomplish over a certain amount of time, but a lifelong process. I look to not only make sure kids understand but feel confident in developing their own ideas and opinions.
I enjoy showing people and kids that English is not just about reading a book then writing an essay. There is so so so much more that we can develop from it and ways to use it in society. Most people will not be writing reading books and writing essays on them. So, teaching kids about English in business, science, law, politics, etc. Is detrimental to sustaining interest.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I first wanna gain an understanding of them as a student. This will allow me to teach in a way that they can understand and then (hopefully) be able to do assignments un-assisted with confidence
Next, is understanding their schoolwork and what their teachers ask of them. No matter what grade or school each teacher is different. So, understanding their standards will make me and your student more successful in the long run
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I obtained my an Associates degree in Arts and Sciences from Bellevue College
I am currently studying English-Literature at Western Washington University. I am also training to become a teacher. And on top of that, I hope to get a minor in Linguistics.
I have been a volunteer mentor to robotics teams across the Issaquah School District for going on 5 years now. I have taught robotics to every grade level and even to adults.
How did you get started teaching?
I started out volunteering my Junior year of High School at an elementary school teaching kids how to build, program, and work in a team with lego robots.
This was very successful to where I slowly start teaching at more and more schools. Even at the middle and high school level.
