How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching because I really want to make a difference in the lives of the people I work with.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all kids of students, with different backgrounds, goals, and skills.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
One of my tutoring students no longer needed my services because he learned all the skills he needed to be successful on his own. The goal is never to keep a student as a client, its to teach them to fly all on their own.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Interview multiple tutors, find the person who you believe will push you to be your best.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Take some time to think about not just what you need help with, but why. Sometimes addressing core skills can help with many aspects of school.
