About
I am a wildlife biologist and writer. My services stand out because I can tutor/counsel you or your child in a variety of subjects: college applications/essay writing, English, History, Biology, Environmental Science, AP English, British Literature, and more! Having applied (and being accepted) to many colleges and graduating from U.C. Berkeley with a degree in Marine Science I have great experience with college applications, science fields, and writing. Over the past several years I have worked in grantwriting (for my non profit/animal sanctuary), teaching/outreach (aquariums, wildlife rehabilitation centers, wildlife sanctuaries), entertainment/music (media relations, communications, public speaking), all while working on several books and pursuing a master's/PhD in Wildlife Biology. With my unique background and experience, I can help you get accepted to your dream college, or assist you in a plethora of subjects.
My nonprofit is a wolf/wildlife sanctuary located in Los Angeles that provides educational tours/classes/programs for kids of all ages and adults as well! Teaching about wildlife and the environment is my passion. We have helped many kids with college counseling and inspired many ore to pursue fields in animal related sciences. There is no greater reward than seeing a child/teen/young adult realize their dream/passion. I especially love to help kids with college apps and essay writing because writing bout environmental awareness to make a difference for the future is my purpose.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The start of my process with a new student is the following:
1. Send me a few sentences/bullet points on what areas you need help with. Also send the syllabus on the course you're looking to work on or your college essay prompt(s).
2. Let me know what goals you have, whether it be career wise or your desired college/major (it doesn't matter how old/young you are!!) This knowledge helps me to have a better understanding of who you are so I can better cater our sessions towards your exact needs.
3. Schedule a first lesson to determine if my tutoring style works for you!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Bachelor's degree in Marine Science and Conservation Biology and currently pursuing my Master's in Forestry and waiting on acceptance for a Wildlife Biology PhD program. I also received the Paul Walker Ocean Leadership Award in 2015 for my feats in ocean conservation.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge between $30-50/hour. I am willing to negotiate if your financial situation is unstable!
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching as a guide at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. I worked in the tide pool, penguin, and otter exhibits teaching kids about marine life. This spawned my passion to start my nonprofit (Jaws and Paws), where I currently teach weekly programs/seminars to kids and adults of all ages about wolves and wildlife.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with students of all ages and demographics, mainly 5th-12th grade.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Recently, being an Indian woman from the Bay Area, I was incredibly inspired by the swearing in of our new Vice-President Kamala Harris. For a long while it was rare to see women of color in any position of power, so watching a half-Indian woman become Vice-President was a landmark moment.
