About
i am an english major myself, and have had some experience in teaching before. I have homeschooled a few different students before, mostly helping to prepare them for transitioning into the public school system. Reading and writing are two things I am extremely passionate about, and I would like to use my expertise to help others.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I spend the first session getting to know the student and figuring out what their specific needs will be. What they are having the most trouble with, things they do not need any help with. How they like to learn/what works best for them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have two years of college under my belt, and have been a teaching assistant on and off for several years. Plus about three years of experience as a tutor.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My price varies depending on how much time and effort I am required to put in, along with how much the client is able to pay. But as a flat rate, I typically charge around $30-$40/per hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I have always loved reading and writing, and during my junior year of highschool I decided that I wanted to be an Englsih teacher. After sitting on the idea for a while, to insure that it was what I truly wanted, I began tutoring and homeschooling as practice.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students in every grade, from elementary school through highschool. I also have had limited experience with fellow college students.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Just to make sure that they find someone specially suited to fit their personal needs. Ask some questions first. Be certain that their teaching style is compatible with your learning style. Not everyone learns the same, and not everyone teahces the same. Finding a tutor/teacher who meshes well with you, or your child, is essential to a proper learning experience.
