Jessica Shapiro

I specialize in providing tutoring in math, science, social sciences, writing, and specialized instruction for learning disabilities. My approach is to get to know each student's strengths and weaknesses in order to develop fully customized tutoring plans. As an environmental studies and studio arts double major I have a vast array of experience combining science and math with writing. I have the most experience teaching K-6 as a summer camp counselor but also have experience as a high school math tutor. As someone with dyslexia and ADHD I first hand understand that learning can be difficult when it is taught statically. I hope to teach out of the box methods of problem solving to better supplement childhood education. Learning can be fun and exciting and I aim for students to come away from tutoring sessions with that takeaway. My goal is to unlock a passion for learning by making it engaging and enjoyable.
