10 years tutoring and teaching elementary school students including Special Education students and students in the Autistic spectrum. Been around Special Education students and Autistic students for many years.
Understand elementary students' difficulties when they are trying to learn math and reading. Determine what they know now and build up from that point. Very patient with students who are trying to learn. Very sensitive to their emotions.
I love seeing students overcome their deficiencies and master math and reading challenges.
In math, start with counting. In reading, start with age-appropriate vocabulary.
