About
Hi, my name is Tori. I’m a first-year doctoral student at UNC Charlotte. For the past four years, I’ve tutored various math subjects to students from middle school to college. I offer sessions online through Zoom and in person at students' houses or a local meeting point.
My mission is to ensure that my students succeed in the goals they set for themselves and teach them techniques not taught in the classroom but through my personal experience in a math-dominant field. One of my favorite things about tutoring is seeing how differently everyone learns and teaching me how to adapt my instructional methods to suit that student best.

Tori is an outstanding tutor who helped my daughter with her pre-calc assignments. My daughter was comfortable talking to her and felt that she was approachable and very helpful. We would highly recommend her for anyone looking for a math tutor.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
In the first session, I give a brief overview of myself and ask if they have any questions.
Then, I start each lesson by asking what they want to work on today or if they have any questions for me, and then I go from there. It can be different from student to student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have four years of experience tutoring Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and Pre-Calc.
I have a bachelor of science in civil engineering and a minor in environmental engineering. I have math experience through calc three and differential equations.

How did you get started teaching?
I've always had it easier in math, and I enjoy problem-solving and helping people. I started by helping my friends with math problems in high school and college.
During COVID, I branched out to help more people and found a passion that I still enjoy to this day.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with mainly middle and high school students, with the occasional college student.
