Thank you, Bruce. My daughter was so relieved after her meeting with you today. You helped clear up so much for her and gave her a needed boost of confidence. We will definitely call again when she needs it! You were great with her and I can’t thank you enough.

I was happy to have found a high-quality tutor to work with my daughter who has an IEP in a short time frame. I highly recommend Mr. Bruce because of his dedicated service to make sure that the students he works with get an understanding of their subject material. He really goes the "extra mile" and the cost which he charges is very economical. I'm very pleased!

Highly recommend! My son was close to failing his 8th grade algebra class, but with the help of Bruce he surpassed all expectations; going from an E to an A in the last 9 weeks of school. Bruce was very patient and accommodating to my son’s math anxieties. He even stayed longer than his usual time to make sure my son understood the material. I wish we would have hired him sooner.

Bruce has been tutoring my son in algebra for the past couple of weeks. He is incredibly helpful and great at explaining the core concepts of the algebra my son is currently learning in class. He clearly wants to make sure my son understands the problems and how they are solved.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

We discuss what they are currently studying and what are they struggling with. I re-assure them they will pass their course. My only focus is for them to master their subject.

We outline short term and long term goals. If there is a quiz or homework that is due immediately, that is our immediate focus.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I majored in mathematics at Northwestern University and received an honorary key.I am a member of Khan Academy and completed their course for teachers . I have completed their SAT course and received 780 in mathematics.

My son has a learning disorder, dyscalcula, and I mentored him in math. He became a CPA. He referred me his friends, and they were very succesful in passing their subjects. I enjoyed teaching so much that I decided to tutor. I have taught from basic math , pre-algebra to pre-calculus.

I have found many of my students  are visual learners, so I have created many handouts.I also found that repetition is very helpful. No question is a fooish question except one that is not asked. I am supportive, never critical.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

I charge a rate of $40 .00/SESSION. however, i charge a fixed rate . Regardless of the session's length..30,45,60,75,90 minutes, you are charged $ 40.00

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with students who want to improve their grade, pass their SOL, or desire to raise their SAT, ACT, GED,TEAS,ADSVAB  score.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I have been tutoring for over 5 years. I teach from pre-algebra to pre-calculus including geometry, basic statistics and probability. If necessary,  I will work with your teacher. Unfortunately, teachers often go rapidly, and the student has no textbook. The student is on his/her own to find solutions. This is frustrating , and the student can feel hopeless. Consequently, I compiled a syllabus which covers the topics  of  pre-algebra. It consists of worksheets which explains the concepts she is exposed to in school.
I am able to break down  key concepts into smaller principles to facilitate learning. My students are often visual learners, so I have many handouts. I also find repetition essential in learning.. I am never critical. always supportive. I will go at your daughter's/ son's pace and I encourage questions. The only foolish question is one not asked.
