Getting results quickly. I focus on the scoring criteria of standardized tests and use methodologies that I have personally tested in actual tests.
Getting results quickly. A little after I began teaching, I began experiencing the shared excitement of having a student see sudden improvements in their test scores.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first session is get a feel for the student's level, understand their goal(s), and learn their desired time frame in achieving this goal.
For the second session, I submit a syllabus explaining my suggested plan of action for achieving the student's goal. If a student wanted a higher SAT Reading score, then the first session would be solving a few SAT level passages and presenting the scoring. The second session would begin addressing the weaknesses seen in the first session, such as increasing vocabulary level or working on logical problem solving.
We would continue following the plan of action so the student would always know exactly what we were doing.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I taught SAT and TOEFL for 13 years in South Korea and have focused on college admissions over the last 2 years. I had to produce my own lesson plans, worksheets, test and quiz materials. I have published 5 books for TOEFL and recorded a Kaplan authorized online lecture for the SAT Reading section. I have worked closely with students, often teaching students from the beginning of their SAT and TOEFL until they reach their target score.
