Latchford Language Tutoring

About

I have been working in education for 5 years, starting my senior year of high school when I was a teaching assistant for an 8th Grade English class. I believe learning isn't just about memorization, but comprehension. Comphrehension and understanding are important for learning success, so I strive to not only help people learn concepts but understand them and apply them in a realistic setting.

I love helping others and have enjoyed working in teaching and tutoring for 5 years now. My favorite part of my job is helping people understand information and creating relationships with my clients.

Frequently asked questions

I always start with new students by doing with a quick Q&A session. Through this I am able to get a better understanding of the student, their goals, their strengths and weaknesses, and their learning habits.

I interned as a teaching assistant with an 8th Grade English class where I helped in basic English grammar, literary analysis, writing and spelling, and reading comprehension. I have been working as a tutor for Division I student-athletes for around 3 years now in various classes including English/ESL, Government, Information Technology, International Relations, Religious Studies, Business, and French.

I have mostly worked with Division I collegiate student-athletes, many being international students. The most common ages I have worked with range from 16-24 years old. I have also worked with elementary age students in basic English and Language Arts.
