I'm a fourteen-year English teacher with experience teaching all high school grade and skill levels. Currently, I teach AP Language and Composition and run Woodgrove High School's writing center. My goal is to help students strengthen their skills in reading and writing through patience, understanding, and a little bit of humor.
While I am adept at helping middle school and high school students, I do not tutor children under the age of 12.
I love working with high school students. I find them interesting and engaging. My favorite part of the job is seeing students succeed and gain confidence in their learning.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I feel it's important to get a sense of the student's learning style and abilities before moving forward. I meet students at their level, and work on scaffolding to enforce important concepts. This gives them a strong foundation. I challenge them appropriately and never forget to give positive encouragement.
