About

Hello! My name is Brittany. I am a 25 year old mother of two. I have an absolute passion for teaching but I am unable to pursue a career in the field right now because I have to be home with my kids. I started tutoring though when my step-children stopped attending school after the 2020 shutdown. I realized that I loved teaching them and their friends and that i was actually good at helping them to understand a lot of the math and language concepts they weren't quite picking up in class. I do not yet have a college degree but I am working on it. I did however graduate from highschool with honors and a 3.8 GPA. Math and English were my two core subjects in which i excelled in. I would love the opportunity to help you're children with their homework or lessons they aren't quite able to grasp in their classes.

Frequently asked questions

It's important for me to get to know the child and the methods of learning that work best for them. For some it is visual for others it is detailed explanation, etc. I love making a personal connection with the kids I am teaching for example learning about their favorite activities or their siblings. I feel this helps them to feel more comfortable with me and to more freely express their acedemic stuggles as well.

I was an advanced student in highschool and graduated with honors in the top 20 of my class. I have worked with elementary aged kids tutoring for about 4 years now.

I don;t have a standard pricing and most of the time I am willing to work with parents at whatever rate they can afford and that is suitable for the time I am spending with the kids. It's more important to me to build relationships and to help children that need it than the money I earn.

I began tutoring when I met my step children who were both sturggling in school. I began to help them and once the pandemic began it got even more difficult for them. I realized a lot of children were struggling to focus in class and that a lot of parents didn't really have the time to reteach their lessons to them. I then began to offer my time to other children who needed a little extra guidance specifically iin math and reading/language arts.

I have only worked with elementary students ranging from kindergarten all the way to 4th grade. I have worked closely with children with ADHD and have spent a lot of time researching the disorder in order to better serve their needs.

Recently me and my children were able to attend the wedding ceremony for my older brother and his wife. It was such a magical day. My brother has always been one of my closest friends and to see him so happy on this day was truly heart warming. Being able to share the experience with my two children just made it even more special.

I would say to look for someone with whom you feel a connection. Someone who is smart with many degrees is always a good thing but if you aren't able to open up to that person and express how you truly feel, then it may not be a good match.
