About
I am getting my doctorate in English/ESL this May of 2019 and have had more than 10+ years of experience teaching for ESL programs at 4 year college institutions, such as Boston University and Northeastern University. I have been teaching college writing at many different community colleges and currently teach at Northern Virginia Community College in Annandale. I can help you with ESL reading, writing, speaking and listening skills as well as college writing and grammar. I can also help you with your college personal statements, resumes and theses/dissertations.
I am also trilingual in English, Korean and Spanish.
I find passion in seeing happiness from my students when they feel like they have learned something new. I am happiest when students come to me for advice and open up to me to tell me their struggles and concerns in life. I do it for the students.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I usually aim to get to know the student's learning style and level of placement during the first few sessions. I may ask him or her to perform a short diagnostic test. Afterwards, I come up with a personalized plan for him or her because I believe in developing student-centered curriculums catered to each student. I have had many great reviews by my past students. I can show them to you upon request.
