About
I currently work as an adjunct faculty at two different universities - teaching beginning and intermediate-level academic writing.
I am also a CRLA level I & II certified tutor for Writing. I spent a chunk of my undergraduate education working at my university's Writing Center where I worked as a general tutor and a specialized Writing Fellow for discipline-specific writing. I graduated from Utah Valley University in 2018 with a Bachelor's Degree in English - emphasis in Creative Writing. And I received my Master of Arts degree in English Literature from Mercy College in May 2021. These degrees helped prepare me to tutor students in everything from English Literature to Technical Writing. I have worked with both High School and University level students.
I am very passionate about writing and education. My services are unique because I focus on helping students develop good learning and writing habits rather than just focussing on one assignment. It is important to me that a student is learning more about their personal writing process, not just getting words on the page.
I enjoy tutoring writing and English because I feel that writing and comprehension skills are important for any field. Many people are quick to disregard writing as important, but I have already seen what a huge impact it has on any education and career. I continually hope to help students develop those skills and find a passion for writing!!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The most important thing to me is to set expectations for what I expect and what the student expects from our sessions. Reviewing what we both want to accomplish and quickly assessing and addressing how I will help reach those goals is important to me.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I worked at the Utah Valley University Writing Center from August 2017 to October 2018. While I worked there, I worked in the main center and also as a discipline-specific writing tutor.
While there, I became CRLA certified at level I and level II.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with University level students and High School level students.
I have worked with students on assignments ranging from English Literature & Writing Assignments, History Essays, Philosophy & Ethics, Engineering Reports/Projects, Construction Management Research & Technical Writing, and even Psychology Research Assignments.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for someone that you feel like you mesh well with. I think it is important to find someone you can trust with your writing and be honest with you. If you find someone who is constantly dancing around you, it will be hard to make substantial progress.
