About
I am a mechanical engineering student at BYU and love mathematics. I have a passion for teaching and have had a wide variety of teaching experiences. I have done tutoring as a part of community service organizations and for my friends. I have led leadership classes in the past and have mentored young boy scouts as a troop leader and an Eagle Scout. I have three younger siblings and enjoy helping them fulfill their homework assignments and grow their knowledge.
My business stands apart from the rest because I am currently a student and have siblings in middle school and high school. Consequently, I better understand the unique struggles and challenges of being a student. I desire my students to succeed and teach using a variety of methods and tools adapted to the student.
I love seeing the joy of discovery and mastery of difficult concepts that learners experience. It is powerful to see them equip themselves with new knowledge that they can call their own.
Also, I enjoy bringing peace to people's minds when they face the stressors of school. Learning should be engaging and enlughtening, not stressful. I thrive on helping people remove the stress and gain the confidence they need.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
To give a brief description of how I run my tutoring sessions, I usually spend the first 5 minutes checking in with the student to measure their confidence level and answer general questions. Then, the next 10 minutes reviewing concepts from the previous review session (periodic review of past material is key to retaining information in the long term). I then spend the remainder of the time answering student’s questions, walking through problems with them and helping them complete any homework assignments they may have.
At the end of each review session, I will discuss the upcoming homework assignment or topic so that I can prepare engaging examples and teaching methods for future lessons (objects, metaphors, videos, drawings, etc.). This is because I value preparation and believe every student learns differently. I also send a review/“cheat sheet” to you and the student to recap what we discussed between review sessions.
My tutoring sessions are 60 minutes long, but I am also available to do 30 minute sessions too.
