I want to teach kids to love to learn! When they figure out how cool it is, they'll be excited and ready to try it out. I strive to be creative and fun, but I also recognize that kids are typically a whole lot smarter than anyone gives them credit for, so I believe in pushing them too.
I love to watch concepts click in a student's mind . . . and they love it, too. I also love the feeling of explaining concepts that I understand, because I get excited and it causes the students to feel that.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I want to get to know the student . . . what kind of personality they have, and what they're good at or passionate about. Then I can do my best to figure out where your child or student needs some extra direction! Typically, I sit down with them and watch them work; only then can I best determine where the misunderstandings exist.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 5 years of nannying and babysitting experience and 2 of academic tutoring. Additionally, I taught piano lessons for 3 years. Otherwise, I've worked in customer-service related fields that have helped me improve at working and communicating with people as a whole.
