About
I love to read and write. As the managing editor for a small online newsletter (The Utah Monthly), I have to pay attention to grammar, style, and substance. I bring those same skills and dedication to my role as a tutor.
I love to discuss literature, writing styles, essay techniques, comparative politics, and standardized test preparation. I have taken, and performed well, on the SAT, GRE, and LSAT.
My SAT score was 1380 (93rd percentile), and 780 (out of 800) on the SAT Literature Subject Test, and 760 (out of 800) on the SAT US History Subject Test.
My GRE score was 168 (98th percentile) for verbal reasoning, and 5.0 (90th percentile) for analytical writing. My LSAT score was 166 (92nd percentile).
My LSAT score was 166 (92nd percentile).

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First I sit down with the new student and help them set some personal goals. For example, what score would they like to get on their standardized test? Or, what score would they like to get on a specific sub-section of that test?
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a B.A. in International Relations, which consists of an array of political science, economics, and foreign language (in my case, Spanish) classes. This course of study helped me grow as a reader, writer, and critical thinker.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$20 per hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I work as a substitute teacher in the Nebo School District, this helped me recognize my love for educational environments and passion for helping students realize their potential.
What types of students have you worked with?
At this point I have mostly worked with college students, specifically as I worked as a TA for a comparative politics class.
