About
I currently own a company called The Math Cheat Code where we help students with their Math learning needs. I graduated with a 4.0 for my B.S. in Exercise Science (Health and Human Performance, and Sports Performance emphasis) with minors in Introduction to Nutritional Science, Japanese, and Psychology back in April 2019. I've also graduated (Dec 2021) with my M.S. in Strength and Conditioning Studies. With my degrees, I'm proficient in Math and English as I have to be in order to provide the best service to my clients. I've also been tutoring Math and English, along with other various subjects, for 10+ years.
I enjoy watching people grow and become better at the things they have uptaken for themselves to do. It brings me great joy to see them be able to master the things that they were once not so proficient or good at. It is great to be able to communicate and interact with people who are interested in bettering themselves.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I ask them various question to asses what they understand and what they are confused/ need help with in order to gauge their level and how to approach them, and work with their needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've graduated with a Masters of Science in Strength and Conditioning Studies in December 2021. Therefore, I'm very familiar with anything related to exercise and sports science, as well as proficient in Math and English in order to provide the best service to my clients. I'm also knowledgeable in 5 languages (English, Malay, Chinese, Japanese, Hokkien). I used to help my friends a lot with their Math homework throughout high school as well as university because I'm proficient at Math. I've played tennis for 18 years and still counting, while also coaching for about 10 years now. I've also been tutoring Math and English, along with other subjects, for about 9 years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My base rate is $60/hr for a single student. However, I am looking to work and negotiate the price with you if needed. Group classes are dependent on the number of students in the group and the duration of the lesson. If you have any other questions about my pricing, feel free to contact me :)
How did you get started teaching?
I used to help my friends a lot with their homework in high school and university by breaking down and explaining the concepts to them. I've also tutored my coach's nephew in various subjects such as English and Math before pursuing my undergraduate degree. All together, I have about 9 years of experience tutoring mainly Math and English. I've also coached tennis for around 10 years now.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with students as young as 3 years old to as old as 17 years old. I've also encountered students with various personalities throughout my teaching and coaching career.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone who fits your needs and can work with you. Like any human interaction, it takes a "click" for things to really start rolling.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What do you want to work on? What are your strengths? How do you think you can improve? What do you think works best for you? What do you understand about this topic/concept? What are you confused about this topic/concept?
