About

I have 10+ years tutoring Math and Science subjects, such as Chemistry, and helped over 100+ students with their goals and learning needs. I also own a company called The Math Cheat Code where we help students with their Math learning needs.

I enjoy watching people grow and become better at the things they have uptaken for themselves to do. It brings me great joy to see them be able to master the things that they were once not so proficient or good at. It is great to be able to communicate and interact with people who are interested in bettering themselves.

I am thrilled to write this review for Michelle Khoo, a truly exceptional math tutor. From my daughters first session, it was clear that Michelles deep understanding of math concepts, combined with her exceptional teaching skills and engaging personality, set her apart. Michelle has the ability to break down complex ideas into understandable explanations that resonate with my daughter.
What I appreciate most about Michelles approach is her keen insight into my daughters strengths and weaknesses. She tailors each tutoring session to reinforce areas of proficiency and address areas needing improvement. Michelle doesnt just teach math – she fosters confidence in my daughters problem-solving abilities. My daughter now looks forward to her tutoring sessions and has made significant strides in her math skills since starting with Michelle.
Michelles patience and support create a safe, comfortable learning environment. My daughter feels free to ask questions and make mistakes without fear of judgement, knowing Michelle is dedicated to her success. I highly recommend Michelles tutoring services to any student in need of mathematical guidance.

I feel lucky to have Michelle helping my son with math. I don’t know where to start she is a wonderful tutor. She is on time, reliable, an unexpected bonus she has a very pleasant personality. My son says the hour he spends with her goes by so fast. He also has more confidence when it comes to math, all thanks to Michelle. I truly feel so lucky to have her help.

    Frequently asked questions

I ask them various question to asses what they understand and what they are confused/ need help with in order to gauge their level and how to approach them, and work with their needs.
As a former competitive tennis player who was constantly travelling for tournaments, I had to teach myself a lot of the material as I was always on the road. This made me develop methods and techniques to remember and apply these Math concepts during my educational years efficiently. Whenever I returned to school, my peers would always ask me to teach them these Math and Science concepts because they found that the method I developed was more effective than the teachers in school. From there, I have been helping students with gaining confidence and mastery over these Math concepts until this very day.
My base rate is $70/hr per student. This covers the first hour plus any additional hours requested after. For 30mins after the first hour or any hour after, it will be $45. For example, 2.5 hours will be $185 ($70 x 2 for the whole 2 hours and $45 for the last 30mins). I also have a 24-hour cancellation policy where any sessions cancelled within 24-hours of the session will be charged at the full rate. Sessions that are rescheduled within 24-hours of that session and then cancelled after will incur the full rate. Exceptions are illness, medical emergencies or death within a family. For any questions about my rates and cancellation policy, feel free to ask :)

I've worked with students as young as 2nd Grade all the way up to adult learners. I've also helped students with various IEPs such as ADHD and dyscalculia.

Find someone who fits your needs and can work with you. Like any human interaction, it takes a "click" for things to really start rolling.

What do you want to work on? What are your strengths? How do you think you can improve? What do you think works best for you? What do you understand about this topic/concept? What are you confused about this topic/concept?
