College Student That Wants To Tutor
About
I have a dream of becoming a teacher and becoming a tutor is a great place to start. I hope to drive students passion and get them excited about any topic they may be struggling on. I graduated high school in 2019 and I have two years of college under my belt, currently working for a General Academics degree and a Multimedia/Web Tech Dev Certification. In these two years of college I was also a music student for a year and a half of it, which makes me in turn, a college level musician. I haven't really tutored before but I am excited to really give it a shot and learn more about how to do it and learn about you!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Well I would take the first lesson/session as a introductory way to see how far the student is in their education. Maybe give them a little quiz to see how they do and teach them on where they went wrong. From then on, I would structure any future lessons around the "struggling topics" or anything new that they are learning in school themselves!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Currently no training and working on that education part. But more than excited to get started!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Currently flexible on that. Since I'm new, aiming around the $20/hr mark. This may change with more experience or difficulty with topic. There won't be any cancelation fee or anything like that, and better yet, if I'm learning something new with the student, the price will get cut in half ($10/hr).
How did you get started teaching?
Haven't gotten started yet, but I got inspired from other teachers making a big impact on me and sharing things in a positive light and that is why I would love to start teaching/tutoring right away!
What types of students have you worked with?
I've been around all kinds of kiddos when they just asked me for help. My little brother is ADHD and OCD, teaching him new things has always been a fun journey for me and I'm very comfy with kids that are similar to that or are mentally challenged.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Just had a recent vacation to a water park called Schlitterbaun! Was super fun and would love to tell anyone who wants to know about it.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for someone that doesn't just match what you need help with, but you can feel their personality and passion through the text on the screen. A happy and fun time while learning something is always more enjoyable than just blah blah information.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Why do I need a tutor/teacher?

Can I be consistent when it comes with meeting and talking about things with my tutor/teacher?
