About

MATHNASIUM Learning center offers math-only, year-round instruction in an engaging and supportive setting. Our innovative, individualized curriculum helps our students develop much needed math concepts and skills, as well as build confidence in their abilities. Developed over 30 years of hands-on experience with thousands of children, the MATHNASIUM educational method is designed for children from Pre-K through Calculus. We also help prepare students

for standardized test such as STAAR, SAT, ACT, HESSI, TExES, & ASVAB, and help home schooled children.

* We Specialize In Math. Other programs provide practice, and with practice kids can eventually get the right answer. The MATHNASIUM method goes beyond traditional math tutoring to develop a true understanding and build a love of math. That’s the difference between an “A” and an “A+”.

We Make Math Make Sense.

* A Customized Program. Other programs give every child the same set of materials. We start with a two-part (oral and written) diagnostic, and create a custom tailored program for each child.

* Individual Instruction. Highly trained instructors are always available to help your children, one-on-one, in their math discovery process. All questions are answered in real-time while the student is working on his/her individualized curriculum.

* Proven Results. No other math program can show the outstanding results that MATHNASIUM students demonstrate in independently conducted tests. MATHNASIUM simply works. MATHNASIUM students understand the fundamentals of mathematics, and as they do they build the confidence to succeed in the classroom and beyond!

As the owner, and someone who struggled with math in school - I enjoy being able to show students and their parents that Math is not really that scary or difficult when you are shown how to do it in a way that makes sense and without judgement. You must understand what the question it really asking to be able to have the confidence to tackle a problem. I enjoy seeing those "Ah Ha" moments - especially with those who feel like they are facing an insurmountable task.

    Frequently asked questions

It all begins with an honest conversation and an assessment. Once we know exactly where our students are on their math journey and what their goals are, then we can determine how we can best be of service.

Mathnasium instructors come from diverse backgrounds, but all have to undergo specific Mathnasium Method instructor training. Most of our current instructors come from Mathematics, Engineering, or Classroom Education based fields.

Mathnasium does have a standard straight forward pricing system. Like a "gym" our program is monthly. Results are almost immediate, but best practice is to have long term goals in mind and for a student to attend 3 times a week. We provide customized learning plans specific for each one of our students - so we meet them on their level and address their needs. We are not just "catch up" we also do enrichment.

We have worked with students from all walks of life from Kinder to Adulthood. Our system can accommodate and adapt to a variety of learning styles and abilities. We do not use computers or calculators. We teach Math using an "old school" pencil and paper approach, and by doing so - true mathematical mastery can be achieved!

The advice I would give is to be HONEST and be open. Honest with what you are struggling with. Honest with yourself that you might need a little extra help and that it is okay to ask. Be open to the results and the feedback you receive, and know that any good instructor will only have your best interest in mind.

Are you willing to actually listen to what the instructor has to say - especially if goes against what you personally think (or wanted to hear).
