About
I work with all kinds of students. I find weak areas and strengths and build from there.
I absolutely love teaching. Teaching one on one is wonderful for students to really get what they struggle with.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Start with a few minutes to get to know each other. Find students strengths and weaknesses by asking questions. Build confidence and reteach weaknesses.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an AA in liberal studies and a BA in Deaf Studies. I am currently working on my Texas teaching credential. I have been involved with tutoring or teaching for many years in different venues (private tutoring, no child left behind tutoring, tutoring center, para-professional for K-8 grade).
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I generally ask for $20 an hour. Older students can normally handle 90 minute lessons. I like to keep younger students to only 60 minutes.
How did you get started teaching?
I knew I wanted to be part of education when my oldest child started learning his abc's and numbers. I absolutely love seeing children gain understanding and knowledge.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students from other countries who are learning English. I have worked with general education students in grades Pre-K through 8. I have worked with special needs students in Pre-K to 8th grades. These special needs include, deaf and hard of hearing, autism, and downs syndrome to name a few.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a teacher who you can relate to.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students sometimes know where they struggle. However, I have found most students have holes in their education that greatly effect how they learn new things.
