Howdy! Who says learning has to be boring? Not I! I'm Ms. Shan and I am super excited to meet you and have fun learning new things! I love to travel and meet new people, eat new foods, and enjoy laughing while teaching subjects in an entertaining way. My background is very diverse in that I was an Engineer for over 20 years while volunteering in various compacities before feeling that I could leave a longer-lasting impact working in a different career. That lead me to have the absolute pleasure of traveling to 7 different countries (Guatemala, El Salvador, Thailand, Belize, Kenya, Mozambique, & Uganda) teaching many students English as a Foreign Language, math, science, reading, and writing over this year. No matter where the students were located, the students and I both were so sad on my last days because not only did we have so much fun in the classroom learning the different subjects, the students felt seen, heard, empowered, and special all while tackling lessons, some of which were hard topics to understand before. I have taught all ages and folks from different walks of life from Pre-K & Kindergarten, youth, pre-teens, young adults, and even adults in the past.
