What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I want to get to know a new student. I ask basic questions such as what interests and hobbies they have, what they currently struggle or find challenging in the subject and why. It is important in building a rapport with a new student that I as a tutor I am easy to access and approach. Also it provides me with topics that interest the student that I may effectively employ in effectively teaching.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a 3rd year doctorate of pharmacy student at Creighton Univeristy.
I majored in Biology in undergraduate.
I took AP Biology in high school.
I tutor writing and provide positive feedback on essays for my sibling for the past 5 years

Elementary aged students: $20/hr
Middle school aged students: $20/hr
High school aged students: $25/hr

Being an older sibling I inherited teaching and tutoring my younger sibling

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I have a kitten which I am obsessed with. I take lots of videos of him and send to my family group message just because I am such a proud cat-mom.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
it's okay if you don't understand a topic, but it is not okay to continue not understanding the topic
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What part of the topic at hand is challenging, why is it and how can I master it?
Do I want to understand a topic for me or for my parents?
