About
My service is all about the student and what they need to achieve success. I work thoroughly in building a trusting relationship with students so they can be confident and be open about any concerns or problems they may have. I know there are different learning styles, so I am open to seeking what works well for the student and strategies to help them work well.
Teaching is a joy to me because I am able to help students achieve their maximum potential, help them to be critical thinkers and be independent. Seeing students be confident and successful is a great feeling. I enjoy the interaction I am able to have with students because they are always full of life and teaching me something too!
One on one tutoring and working with small groups is a strength of mine because I can focus on students' needs and give kids more individualized attention to work on strategies. It is something I implement in my classrooms daily to help students achieve goals.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I generally like to build a relationship with a new student by getting to know them first. For example, the student's interests and hobbies as well as get a feel for how the student learns best. I would like the student to also know more about myself as a teacher as well so we can work together to help the student learn and grow best. Aside from building trust, I am looking for what it is the student needs help with and how I can help them improve in a subject.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Professionally teaching full time at public school in Alief ISD and at a private school in grades kindergarten through 2nd has given me exposure to working with many different students and learning styles. I have taught church Sunday school classes in grades 1st through 5th as well, so I am familiar with working with students of all ages. Also, working as a private tutor afterschool, I am able to work one on one with students to increase study skills and work habits. I meet students needs based on their learning styles and help them develop strategies to learn best.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
It depends on the length of the session and the subject the student needs help with.
How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching as a substitute teacher for grades kindergarten through high school, giving myself exposure to all grade levels and subjects. I also volunteered to teach Sunday school classes because I enjoyed teaching and working with kids so much in my community. I then taught full time in public school in Alief ISD for 4 years and moved to a private school recently.
