As a professional educator with more than 10 years of experience teaching basic math, GED, STAAR Prep, English, Language, Arts, Reading, Writing, and ESL, I have the tools to facilitate engaging instruction that's accessible to students. I utilize various strategies, tools, and applications that meet the needs of each student. Based on my assessment of students' needs, I tailor instruction to create a lesson plan with clear goals and objectives.
I am very passionate about teaching because I understand that one-to-one instruction can have a dramatic effect on a students' academic succes. It brings a smile to my face when I see students grow intellectually. It's extremely gratifying to hear students evolve intellectually to the point that they are able to think critically about what they read. It's especially gratifying when former students become teachers. When you see former students become master educators, you understand the positive impact that you had on the lives of those that you taught.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to start by getting to know the client and getting a clear idea of their objectives and what they hope to accomplish from the tutoring experience. Next, I conduct a brief assessment to determine the client's academic strengths and weaknesses. Then we can move forward with a customized lesson plan that meets the unique needs of the client.
