About
I feel that myself and my tutoring business stands out because of the way I teach. It is not a conventional way of teaching, but more of a creative and original style. I always allow my students to think out of the box, and color outside the lines with whatever color they want. They can do this with whatever type of paper they are trying to write, or speech they are giving. This gives them a sense of control and power over what hey are doing. I think that students need to feel that way to do what you're asking them to do, as well as making them want to write better papers, I have always found this approach successful. I also believe that we must teach our children “how to think” and not “tell them” what to think.
I want to show every student that there exists a whole different world waiting for them to explore. A world that is not concrete or black and white, but rather conceptual, meaning anything goes. I get an immense joy in seeing a student react to my teaching conventions. When they realize that they can write about something they are interested in, think outside the box, and color outside the lines, then I see better papers. Students tend to enjoy English more.
I like to work with kids who are not of the English mindset, meaning that they are either math or science oriented where 2 + 2 always equals 4, or they feel like or have heard so much about hating English, that they just don't want to do it. When I get a chance to work with a child like this, I need to find the root of the problem. That part is interesting to me because it helps me understand more and more why students tend to not like English. When I do find this out, the students and I work on that issue, and I make the sessions around their interests as much as possible. When a student can write about an interest of theirs, they do much better work and learn more. At that point they flourish, becoming different students. The students that do like to write are also very special. Those students allow me to move beyond what they are doing, and I can teach more and more skills, ways to paint themselves into the words, so that can truly express what they want to say.
So, I enjoy my job because I can see every type of student, all at different levels, enjoying and learning to write. The success of my students is rewarding and is something they must have and feel.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I offer a free consultations with the parents and student. I have questionnaires that provide me with information, not only educational, but also personal, so I can understand the matter better. I will be working closely with the parents every step of the way, so knowing a bit about them is important. I am willing to look at a student's writing samples for free, if given to me between the initial conference and the first session, and then offer my opinion, . This can give me ideas as to where the student is having issues, and allow me to come up with a plan.
In the beginning of a session, it is more of a "get to know you" so that the student becomes more comfortable with me. We talk about the likes and dislikes of various things, what they feel they are struggling with and why . We talk about how they feel about having a tutor. Then I give a small assignment.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am certified by the State of Texas to teach English/ ELA. I also have a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies, and a Master of Science in Finance. I have worked for Four Bend ISD for five years
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Because of my certification, experience, and knowledge, my prices vary, dependent upon need. I do have a fixed price for a single assignment, which has certain disclosures of $15.00 for a thirty minute session. I also at least three days notice. If given within the three a fixed price for proofreading (which includes revising and editing) of 1.50 per page. If a paper is given within the three days of the due date, the cost is $2.50 per page.
I offer various incentive packages.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find the best fit for you. You are the one learning and you deserve to do so without conflict and it should be an enjoyable and understanding relationship. You should also learn something every time you see a tutor and if you feel that you're not getting what you are needing, you might think about switching tutors.
