I find it to be extremely rewarding when I am able to pass on what I have learned to others in order to help them succeed. I firmly believe that developing a strong rapour with the individuals I work with to be a key in delievering the most effective experience possible to all my client's.
I love working with children of all ages and in all areas. I have 20 + years experience in teaching dance, swimming, tutoring, and counseling. I also enjoy working with adults who are wanting to learn new skills or strengthening already acquired skills. I find that helping people in any manner is fundamentally necessary for me to be the best possible version of myself.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My typical process for working with a new student begins with getting to know the student on a personal level; different hobbies, do they play sports if so which one their favorite, which school subject is their favorite, which is their least? After talking with both student and parent we will, together, come up with a plan of specific curriculum that the student needs to work on the most.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BS in Psychology and have worked in the mental health field specifically at residential childcare facilities specializing in children with extreme trauma, abuse, & neglect backgrounds most with co-occuring mental health diagnosis and/or spectrum disorders.
I am also a retired ballerina, have taught all forms dance for over 20 years, and am trained in ballet, tap, jazz, modern, contemporary, theater dance, and theater.
I have experience teaching in a classroom setting as well as tutoring.

How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching dance when I was in high school then taught swim lessons while in college. I found that I had a passion for working with kids and teaching others in general.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all kinds of students.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I had a client that I worked extensively with through art therapy and while doing so helped this client discover an extremely amazing talent for creating beautiful works of art and a deep passion for art.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Hire someone that you feel comfortable with and someone that you can relate to on some level.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
