About
I'm Joshua Jarma and I love math and science!
My favorite thing about teaching is watching a student move from confusion to understanding to success and I celebrate with them every step of the way. I love learning how other people learn and adapting my style to match their needs because I am confident that everyone is able to learn, we just need to find the right approach. I have been professionally tutoring for more than two years in addition to teaching statistics and forensics at a private high school. My wife and I have also homeschooled our children for eight years (they are 12 and 7 years old - both learning how to read before they were five) so I am very experienced at teaching in one-on-one settings.
I’ve been certified to teach 8-12 Mathematics, am familiar with and understand STAAR testing, and have also worked as a substitute teacher including assisting with special needs children. I have a B.S. degree in Computer Science from Texas A&M.
My rate is $50 per hour with a $15 travel fee for in-person appointments outside San Marcos. I am available in person or online to help with math from kindergarten all the way through high school and into college.
