About
When students begin to ask increasingly advanced questions during our sessions, I know I'm doing a good job.
The best part about tutoring is watching my students' self-confidence grow.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Depending on the student's goals, the tutoring sessions will be different. Some students need help catching up on class, preparing for tests or advancing their learning. In each case the sessions will be student-focused and tutor-led.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have completed coursework covering the science of learning, advanced mathematics, and sociology. I have also taught lessons in elementary and middle school classrooms during required fieldwork.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Yes, I have introductory rates and multisession discounts available upon request. Tutoring is generally $50/hour.
How did you get started teaching?
When I was young, I taught my little brother to read and frequently helped out with math homework. I began tutoring professionally when COVID-19 hit and students began distance learning.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students who have learning disabilities and attention regulation issues. Specifically, I have worked with student with dyslexia and ADHD. I have also worked with students in pre-AP and AP classes.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
My first student (in my professional career) recently was accepted into pre-AP mathematics after having struggled in 5th grade math. I am so proud of the work he's done to get where he is today.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would say to make sure they are comfortable with the teacher's methods. I prefer to use class materials in my session, however for some students additional assignments are requested or necessary to ensure full comprehension of the subject.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should have a basic understanding of what is going right and wrong with their learning. This way teachers and tutors can assist them in the best way possible.
