What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I spend some time getting to know the student: what he/she is intereted in (sports, hobbies, etc.) Then I have the student do some work in the subject area to determine what his/her strengths and weaknesses are. I then come up with a proposed study plan that I share with the parents.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a certified teacher in both English and Math. I have a degree in English with a specialization in Creative Writing. I also have a Master's degree in ESL. I have been a teacher and tutor for over 20 years.
