Hello, my name is Jorge Ahumada, I hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Pre-Med from UTD, towards Medical School. I tutored Science and Mathematics at Dallas College Northlake Campus for three years bilingually (English-Spanish), and on my own. I am a Texas State certified Reading and writing teacher who has been teaching middle school writing for 13 years, and I have loved every moment of it. After 30 years in media production, I changed careers and became a classroom teacher through an alternative certification program in Texas. I hold these certifications currently: Generalist 4-8, Social Studies 8-12, Journalism 7-12, and ESL Supplemental 4-12. I recently retired from the classroom, but want to continue my ties to education. The bulk of my classroom experience is with students that have learning differences such as ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and executive functioning difficulties. I have specialized in working with students on an individual basis and delivering instructions based on their learning styles.

As a biology graduate, I have developed a strong passion for understanding how living systems work and for helping others make sense of complex scientific concepts. Through my coursework, I have built a solid foundation in topics such as cell biology, genetics, and human anatomy, while also learning the importance of clear communication and critical thinking. I am eager to apply my knowledge as a tutor, not only to reinforce my own understanding but to support students in gaining confidence and clarity in biology and stem subjects. Because I am a young tutor at the age of 18, I am able to teach children/adolescents in a much more causal and comfortable manner.
