After 30 years in media production, I changed careers and became a classroom teacher through an alternative certification program in Texas. I hold these certifications currently: Generalist 4-8, Social Studies 8-12, Journalism 7-12, and ESL Supplemental 4-12. I recently retired from the classroom, but want to continue my ties to education. The bulk of my classroom experience is with students that have learning differences such as ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and executive functioning difficulties. I have specialized in working with students on an individual basis and delivering instructions based on their learning styles.

As a biology graduate, I have developed a strong passion for understanding how living systems work and for helping others make sense of complex scientific concepts. Through my coursework, I have built a solid foundation in topics such as cell biology, genetics, and human anatomy, while also learning the importance of clear communication and critical thinking. I am eager to apply my knowledge as a tutor, not only to reinforce my own understanding but to support students in gaining confidence and clarity in biology and stem subjects. By breaking down challenging material into approachable ideas, I aim to create a supportive learning environment

Because I am a young tutor at the age of 18, I am able to teach children/adolescents in a much more causal and comfortable manner. I am able to get along with several age groups in an open, friendly way and can teach others with what I have personally learned in school. I enjoy seeing others progress in their struggles as a way to reflect on themselves not just academically, which is why I love to tutor children in areas they need extra assistance in. My goal is to help students become more confident in their goals, whether it has to do with school or personal character....
